Tour Overview

Discover Alaska’s hidden gems by taking scenic drives through wilderness backroads, crossing Prince William Sound by ferry, and venturing into the wilderness on dirt highways. If you enjoy wilderness driving and exploring the less traveled paths, this 6-day journey provides an in-depth Alaskan wilderness experience. 

Explore Denali National Park and Wrangell St Elias National Park to enjoy wildlife viewing and beautiful mountain vistas.  Immerse yourself in the history of Alaska, enjoy the delicious wilderness cuisine, and learn about the local wildlife at educational centers. Enjoy an up-close mountain view of Denali at the McKinley View Cafe before exploring Anchorage on the historical trolley tour.

Tour Arrival and Departure

The Alaska Wilderness Discovery Tour starts and finishes in Anchorage. We suggest that you arrive the evening before the first tour day.

Please let us know if you would like help finding accommodation for your arrival day. You can pick up your rental vehicle in Anchorage on your arrival day after 6:00 p.m. without additional charges.

Day 1 - Drive your vehicle onto the Alaska Marine Highway to travel from Whittier to Valdez
Day 2 - Explore the Prince William Sound and Columbia Glacier
Day 3 - Explore Wrangell St Elias National Park
Day 4 - Enjoy traveling the back roads from Glennallen to Denali
Day 5 - Spend the day exploring Denali National Park
Day 6 - Enjoy a scenic drive down the Parks Highway
