Day 1 — Arrival into Sitka

  • Take a one-hour guided walking tour of Sitka and the historic downtown area.
  • Spend the rest of the day exploring Historical Sitka and the scenic waterfront.

Day 2 — EXPLORE SITKA

  • Check into your rental car this morning to use throughout the day to explore Sitka.
  • Enjoy a scenic drive along Halibut Point Road and Sawmill Creek Road – Look for wildlife and stunning scenery.
  • Visit the Sitka National Historical Park – Enjoy viewing historical Totem Poles.
  • Learn about local wildlife by visiting the Alaska Raptor Center & the Fortress of the Bear.

Day hiking and wildflowers in the Juneau area

Day 3 — Sitka to Juneau

  • Flight provided with Alaska Airlines from Sitka to Juneau – Check into your rental vehicle provided throughout your stay in Juneau.
  • Tour the Alaska State Museum in Juneau – Visit the historical downtown Juneau Area.
  • Ride the Mt. Roberts Tram for a sweeping view of Southeast Alaska and excellent day hiking
  • Take a scenic walk along the Perseverance National Recreation Trail to explore the fascinating history of gold mining. You may encounter mountain goats, beautiful waterfalls, and colorful wildflowers along the way.

Explore the Rainforest Glacier Gardens & Mendenhall Valley

Day 4 — Explore Juneau

  • Tour the Rainforest Glacier Gardens – Explore the beautiful Mendenhall Valley.
  • Explore Mendenhall Glacier and enjoy wildlife viewing at the Mendenhall Wetlands.
  • Drive the beautiful Glacier Highway- Visit Eagle Beach to enjoy wildlife viewing and scenic local walking trails.
  • Enjoy an all-you-can-eat Alaskan Style Salmon Bake located in a lush rainforest environment (dining available under heated cover)

Travel aboard the Alaska Marine Highway

Day 5 — Arrival into Gustavus

  • Travel aboard the Alaska Marine Highway from Juneau to Gustavus – Enjoy beautiful scenery, remote wilderness islands and bays. (approx. 5 hour cruise)
  • Arrive at Gustavus – Gateway to Glacier Bay National Park.
  • Check into your rental vehicle in Glacier Bay, provided throughout your Gustavus stay.
  • Explore the small bayside community of Gustavus

Day 6 — Glacier Bay National Park

  • Cruise all day through Glacier Bay National Park and take in the sights of wildlife and glacier calving. A Glacier Bay Park Ranger will be on board to share insights about the marine ecosystem.
  • Tour the Glacier Bay National Park Visitor Center.  Enjoy park presentations at Glacier Bay Lodge, and learn about the local native culture and way of life in the Huna Ancestor’s House.

Enjoy whale watching in the Icy Strait

Day 7 — Whale watching & rainforest

  • Spend 3.5 hours on a spacious 50′ boat in the Icy Strait for an up-close, intimate wildlife viewing experience. Look for whales, sea lions, seals, sea otters, and other wildlife.
  • Enjoy a Rainforest Walk with a local ranger and learn about the history of Glacier Bay National Park.
  • Explore the quaint village of Gustavus and enjoy local scenic walks, local artists’ work, and wildlife-viewing trails.

Flightsee the Inside Passage from Gustavus to Haines

Day 8 — Gustavus to Haines

  • Enjoy a flight-seeing tour of the Inside Passage from Gustavus to Haines. View the Glacier Bay Wilderness, beautiful waters of the Lynn Canal, the scenic Chilkat & Fairweather Mountain Ranges  -an approximately 1.5-hour flightseeing tour.
  • Arrive in Haines, a waterfront village located on the shores of the Lynn Canal at the base of the Chilkat Mountains.
  • Check into rental vehicle in Haines to use through out your stay in Haines
  • Visit the American Bald Eagle Foundation
  • In the evening drive to Chilkoot Lake to look for Grizzlies fishing for salmon

Day 9 — Explore Haines

  • Explore the Chilkat Valley of the Eagles
  • Have lunch at the 33-Mile Roadhouse
  • Explore Chilkat State Park to enjoy wildlife viewing and day hiking
  • Enjoy a 4- hour tour with a local naturalist – explore local areas where it is common to view Bald Eagles and Grizzly Bears

Day 10— Haines to Skagway

  • Cruise aboard the Haines – Skagway Fast Ferry, enjoy wildlife viewing and scenic waterfalls traveling through the north end of the Lynn Canal (approx. 45-minute trip)
  • Arrive into the small historic village of Skagway – Gateway to the historic Klondike Goldrush. – Check into a rental vehicle in Skagway to use for the day.
  • Drive the scenic South Klondike Highway from Skagway to Emerald Lake in the Yukon (approximately a 70-mile drive) – Visit the historic area of Dyea, head of the Klondike Chilkoot Trail.
  • Enjoy a walk across the Yukon Suspension Bridge & visit the Outdoor Museum

Day 11 — bennett scenic journey

  • Enjoy an 8-hour excursion with the White Pass Railroad on the Bennett Scenic Journey.
  • Travel 67.5 miles by train between Skagway and Carcross (located in the Yukon) along the Trail of the Klondike
  • Have a 45-minute layover at Bennett Station to explore where the Klondike Trail meets the train. Enjoy a boxed lunch as the train travels along the scenic Bennett Lake.
  • Travel over the South Klondike Highway by motor coach from Carcross to Skagway.

Day 12— Skagway to Juneau
