Day 1 — Anchorage to Seward

  • Arrival in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city located at the base of the Chugach Mountains
  • Check into a late model rental vehicle in Anchorage (vehicle provided with unlimited mileage)
  • Drive the scenic Seward Highway from Anchorage to Soldotna (approx. 2-hour drive)
  • Travel by Float Plane across the Cook Inlet to Lake Clark National Park – Enjoy up-close bear viewing for 5 hours.
  • Continue your scenic drive, and you will arrive in the picturesque small bayside village of Seward—the gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park.

Day 2 — Kenai Fjords National Park

  • Enjoy a full day of wildlife and glacier viewing aboard a high-speed catamaran – explore Resurrection Bay and the Kenai Fjords National Park with a National Park Ranger on board – a deli-style lunch and hot beverages provided
  • Explore the scenic Caines Head Trail, which is famous for wildlife viewing and sweeping mountain vistas.

Day 3 — Rail Travel Seward to Anchorage

  • Ride behind a sled dog team with a local musher – Tour their training grounds.
  • Tour the Alaska Sealife Center, one of Alaska’s most extensive marine wildlife research centers.
  • Explore Exit Glacier and the Harding Icefield located in the Kenai Fjords National Park – Return rental car in Seward
  • Travel aboard the Alaska Railroad Coastal Classic Train from Seward to Anchorage

Day 4 — Rail Travel Anchorage to Denali

  • Ride the Alaska Railroad in Adventure Class from Anchorage to Denali. During the approximately 8-hour journey, take in the stunning Alaskan wilderness. There’s a train cafe onboard to purchase meals, drinks, and snacks.
  • Arrive at the Denali Train Station – Check into a rental vehicle to use throughout your stay in Denali.
  • Drive the first 15 miles of the Denali National Park Road to Savage River, where it is common to see Moose, Caribou, Dall Sheep, and Grizzly Bears.
  • Travel behind a team of horses in a covered wagon to a remote wilderness dining location for an all-you-can-eat BBQ Meal

Day 5— Denali National Park

  • Pick up a picnic backpack lunch for your day in Denali National Park
  • Watch a Denali Nat’l Park Ranger sled-dog presentation to learn about managing the park during the winter season
  • Spend the day exploring Denali National Park. Take the Shuttle Transit Bus for a 6-hour tour. Enjoy extensive wildlife viewing and beautiful scenery at your own pace

Day 6 — Rail Travel Denali to Fairbanks
